Loss of My Favorite Math Teacher

This is Diane Pugmire, or to me I called her just plain ol' Diane! She passed away early this morning in the Odgen Regional Hospital. The cause is unknown, her lungs just kept filling up with fluid and they couldn't drain it. When I heard she was in the hospital and had a 50/50 chance my math class immediently asked if she we could say a prayer in her behalf and hopefully see her back in our classroom again. This is the lady that finally...in college helped me understand math and why I was doing what I was doing. She taught me math for elementary teachers and I'll always carry around her ideas and methods. She is more than just a college professor she is a friend to every one of her students! She understood that sometimes life hands us a few more lemons than we can handle and was always willing to work with us! I remember not doing so well on one of her tests and feeling so devestated and I went to her classroom and she went over that test with me, and helped me understand what I did wrong and we sat there until it cliqued! All of her students loved her and this is such a great loss to everyone who has had her or has her now...like me! Just can't believe that something can overtake your body so quickly! I love the knowledge I have of this gospel, that we will again see the ones who went before us, that knowledge is one that comforts me through trials like this! She was an inspiration to me and made me love math and actually be inspired to become a teacher, there is so many rewards in teaching she would always see! She NEVER gave up on any one of her students, she knew they would get it and understand it just takes time! I will miss her so much, and seeing her in class, and the excitment she brought into the classroom! I am comforted and a little bit jealous she is now in the loving arms of our heavenly father!

Our Weekend at the Cabin

Macy went to her first dance, homecoming, a couple of weeks ago! She looked really pretty and I think had a pretty good time as well!

Sometimes life gets pretty stressful and all of us just need to get away, maybe no place that is expensive, no place that is extraordinary, or your dream vacation just place where you can relax do what you love to do and be surrounded by those you love and who love you! So that is exactly what Dallas and I did, we took off to his cabin! I have been overwhelmed with learning my new job and trying to fit school work in, and I've had so many craft projects I have just wanted to work on really bad! When Dallas told me he didn't have to work that Sunday I was sooooo excited and went straight to our luggage and started packing and off to buy what I need to make a couple of the projects I wanted to work on for Halloween! Nighttime was an interesting experience! I got so scared, Dallas really wanted to watch a scary movie...I thought I could handle it up until he turned it on and I watched the first 5 minutes, I started to freak out! We slept up in the loft and I could barley get myself to go upstairs I was so nervous! Dallas was not helping either...he was making me more scared by turning a corner and screaming or saying he could see shadows outside It turned into a really successful weekend, I don't feel as overwhelmed, and I got all the projects I wanted done, sewing, painting, hiking and especially having fun! On Sunday Dallas's parents came up to the cabin and made us scones for breakfast and hamburgers for dinner! Both were delicious! We also went for a drive up to Causey Dam, which is really low for this time of year, and Dallas's mom loves to watch animals and when we saw some sheep being herded we pulled over and watched them for a while...which was really entertaining! Unfortunately not soon after that our day had to end :( we were really slow and reluctant to go home, and start the next week! But after that we both feel really relaxed and until the next time! haha below are some pictures of our fun time!
We had to cross the river to get to the other side of the mountain, the water was just a little teeny bit cold!! Just look at Dalla's face, haha the initial reaction when he stepped in! The water was moving fast and the rocks hurt our feet it was an adventure getting across...and especially trying not to drop the camera!
This is the view from red rock, it looks down right onto Dallas's family cabin! His is the cabin right in the middle! I love his cabin, it is so warm and cozy and surrounded by bountifulness...if that is a word!
Look how gorgeous the mountains are!!! I think we are so blessed to live in such a gorgeous state, it was so wonderful to take a hike at this time of year and be reminded of how grateful we should be!
Up top red rock!! We had a lot of fun hiking to the top of red rock! We had a gorgeous view, fought off some big nasty spiders, ate some cobwebs, but are totally laughing about it now! I couldn't help but take a picture of us cause I think we are so cute together and are totally best friends!
He is bringing in the wood to start the fire!! haha, we are gonna get it going...we think!!!

This is the fire my boy scout, got for me!!! He did such a good job!

After Dallas got the fire started, we made us some DELICIOUS smores, they were so yummy that we couldn't help but have smore!

I don't know why I put this picture on here, but I think its funny! Haha Dallas was getting pretty scruffy and he could hardly stand it any longer and even though he really wanted to grow a full length beard he just couldn't resist the good feeling of a cleanly shaven face!
