Bentley-4 months old

I haven't written about my beautiful baby boy for a while, seriously life just needs to slow down!!! I wanted to give a quick update and tell all about Mr. B!!!
He is growing up fast, too fast!! He has quite the fun personality and really has become Mr. Giggles!! We had a really fun Christmas, spent with my family! I know Bentley had no idea what was going on but I loved having him here, my best Christmas present by far!!!! He got spoiled getting: clothes, Johnny jump-up, bumboo, and lots lots of hugs!!! We also spent a few more days with my family because we got snowed in, oh darn!!!! Haha!

A little about Bentley:
At the beginning of January Bentley got RSV, but luckily wasn't too bad! We just had to keep him home and do breathing treatments with him every 6 hours! He got to spent some quality time with his aunt Macy, since we didn't want him at the sitters. It took about a week and a half but he is all better!!! Yeah!!!
He went back to the doctors he is a small little guy! He weighs 14 lbs 9 ounces, lost a few ounces since he was sick! He is in the 27% for weight and 54% for height! He got his 4 months shots and did very very good!!!
He is starting to sit up, and falls forward, but he is really trying! He loves to smile and laugh! When he rubs Dallas's face that always gets at least one giggle out of him, he must like his scruffy face!I love hearing his cute little laugh it's so cute!! He plays a lot in his bumboo, which is really great because now he an sit at the dinner table with us! He has great'hand-to-eye coordination and grabs everything he can and it all goes straight to his mouth!! Oh the drool, my goodness he could fill a swimming pool with his amount of drool!! Haha! My favorite lately is listening to him talk, he has sooooo much to say! He has his favorite blankie, Mickey Mouse, I can't get him to takes nap without it!! I've taught him to spread his arms out, when he does I pick him up or give him a hug, it's so funny to now see him spread his arms open!
We moved him out of our room and into his crib hoping that would help him sleep better at night, it was a no go! He still wakes up about every 3-4 hours but just eats and goes right back to sleep! We bought a mobile for his crib hoping that will at least entertain him while he is in the crib. This past week he started eating rice cereal, he is so funny to watch it it!!! He is not quite sure what to do with  it so it sits on the edge of his mouth until it either dissolves or comes falling out!
He has become such a fun little boy, it's been one year since we found out we were having him, I was scared to death and so nervous! But I how grateful I am now he is here!!! I love him so much!!!

All About Bentley

I cannot believe how fast time has gone by!! I love watching my little boy grow and discover the world around him each and everyday!!! He has definitely gotten bigger, its amazing how a few ounces makes a difference when your holding and feeding him.

2 Days old-coming home from the hospital
3 weeks old, he has such long legs!

Bentley has been a good little boy, a normal typical baby! I haven't been getting a lot of sleep, but that is exactly what I expected!! When we left the hospital his doctor was a little nervous about his jaundice. We went back to the doctor two days after leaving and his jaundice was higher than when we left the hospital. The doctor thought it had hit its peak and would start coming down in the next few days, as a new mom I was very worried. I watched it close, its taken a little while to clear up, especially from his eyes but I think he is finally starting to look better.

About a week ago Bentley got a tummy ache, which kept him and us up all night long. It was non-stop crying, I felt so bad for my little guy! We tried everything we could think of but you could tell he just didn't feel very good. I attributed it to my breast milk, I ate mexican food earlier in the week and don't know if maybe that made his tummy upset. While I was pregnant I couldn't eat mexican food because it made me feel sick. I have been trying to watch what I eat, and get really nervous about eating anything spicy. He has started having blow outs- we go through at least two outfits a day which equals a lot of laundry!!

Between the hours of 7-9 p.m. Bentley gets really fussy, might be a little colicky. Our doctor gave us medicine for his colic, but after taking it for a few days he seemed much worse. We've kind of stopped giving it to him to see if it makes him better. But you can count on him being really upset around 8:30 p.m. every night. It is okay though it helps both of us develop patience. Patience for me while I let figure out what he wants, and patience for him while he lets this new mom, figure out what he needs.

He tries to hold up his head, although he can't right now, I love watching him try!! He munches on his fingers all the time, loves the binky when I won't let him chew on his thumb!! He squeals to try to get our attention, its not really a cry, short loud squeak!

I love love love this baby so much!! I knew I would love him, just never realized how much. I worry about him all the little squeaks, heavy breathing, stuffy nose all makes me a little nervous. Even at night I have to check to make sure he is still breathing!!
We've learned a lot as new parents, well at least I have learned a lots!!
1- Life isn't all about me anymore!(I know duh!)
2-Get things done when Bentley is sleeping or happy looking around
3- Breakfast isn't my most important meal anymore, if I even get breakfast before 11 a.m.
4-I have more patience than I ever thought I did

He loves walks, when he is upset all we have to do is take him outside!!

He loves the sound of the blowdryer...the mad face comes when I begin straightening my hair

Loves playing video games with dad

Has to be held when he sleeps, just during the day though (thank goodness) I love this picture

Always sleeps with his hands above his head, they were always above his head in the ultrasounds...so funny!
Loves bath time since we started using the tub!! His feet splash in and out of the water, it is so cute!!  We thought giving him baths at night would upset him and help him sleep better...but its done the opposite!! I love that he is a water baby!! He usually has to keep one foot in the water at all times!

Baby Bentley

I have been meaning to write our birth story for a while now, but I can't seem to take my eyes off of my little guy! He was born September 9, 2012 at 4:28 p.m. He weighed 7lbs3ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long and absolutely perfect!! Here is the story of how he got here:
September 7-9 Dallas's family and ironically my family both had family trips planned to Park City for the weekend. Dallas's whole family was going (originally they were going to go to Yellowstone) and my mom and sister were going on a girls trip with some family friends from Seattle, WA. I had a busy weekend in store, I was going back and forth from family to family, trying to spend as much time with each of them as possible. My biggest problem with having both families up there was deciding who to spend the night with, Dallas no matter what was going to stay with his family since my family was an all girl trip. My mom told me that it didn't matter where I slept. She said all that mattered was that Dallas was right next to me in case my water broke, which was unlikely to happen since I still had about three weeks to go.
Saturday was my busiest day for being 37 weeks pregnant. I started out the day with Dallas's family shopping and riding the ski lift at Park City Resort (everyone else got to ride the alpine slides and the other fun rides!!) I then went with my family and we went swimming and I was running all over the place in that pool. With my family that night we played more active games, made bracelets, and had pedicures. I was really struggling with where to sleep that night because I was having so much fun with the girls. After going back and forth, I decided I better be with Dallas.
Sunday morning around 7 a.m. I woke up went for my daily bathroom run and went back to bed. It wasn't soon after that I started feeling crampy, then I started to feel really wet. I woke Dallas up and together we investigated if I just wet the bed or if my water broke. I started to feel really weird and super wet. I sat up in bed and I had Dallas get his phone so I could google it on his phone. We soon discovered once I got up to got to the bathroom and felt a rush of water down my leg, my water had indeed broke. We quickly packed our bags told both our families (my mom screamed so loud when I told her..haha) and we headed down the canyon. Of all places to be when your water breaks, ONE HOUR away from home. Dallas drove so fast, I think we made it in about 35-40 minutes. That was the quietest ride down the canyon we have ever had, we were both so nervous! Luckily I wasn't having contractions, just felt really uncomfortable!!
We checked into Mckay Dee Hospital and found out that three other ladies had just come in with their water broken too, it was a busy morning at the hospital! They had me STAND around while the nurses decided where to put me...super uncomfortable with water rushing down your leg!! haha! Finally we got our room and I got all hooked up to monitors. At around 8:30 My nurse checked me and said I was only 2 cm dilated....it was going to be a long day! Dallas and I sat in the room watching Sound of music and waiting on the nurses. I started having some rough contractions around 10, once my pitocin started to kick in, I was trying to stay strong before getting the epidural as long as I could. Finally around noon I got the epidural, heaven sent!!! I had my mom, sister, and Dallas with me in the room at this time. I got checked around 2:30 p.m. and was at 6cm, I was slowly progressing. Around 3 I began feeling my contractions again, and they were super strong. I pushed the button for more epidural, but it wasn't working. The doctor came back in and filled up the medicine again, but thought it was strange I could still feel contractions. I got a new nurse around this time (I loved her!!) she decided for kicks and giggles to check and see how far along I was, and surprisingly she said, "I think we are ready to push!!" I was at a 10, my mom and Macy got super excited and Dallas and I started to cry!! We couldn't believe this was really happening. Macy and my mom left, the doctor got called in and about 1 hour later, I delivered Bentley Dallas Berrett! I could not believe that little boy just came out of me, it was the most amazing feeling ever!! He is a little piece of heaven I am so grateful to have in my arms! The most amazing part was he was screaming when he came out, they laid him flat on my chest and the crying immediately stopped!! It was so amazing, a moment I will never forget!! It felt so nice during the delievery to have Dallas right by my side, helping me through it! Although a couple of times he got so white I thought he was going to pass out!! haha. They cleaned up Bentley and left Dallas and I alone to have our first time together as a family of three!
Later that night we had so many visitors, I felt bad I didn't get to visit with them very long. We stayed at the hospital for 2 very long days and nights and then finally got to take him home (another crazy feeling...we actually get to keep him!) I loved having so many people stop by during our stay and especially when we got home to see Bentley!! He is a very loved little boy!
Here are some fun facts about Bentley:
He loves to suck on his fingers
He loves to have his hands above his head, at all times!
He makes the cutest pucker face with his lips when he looks around
I love when he hears one of our voices and stops crying and looks around for that familiar voice
He is doing great at night, sleeps for about 3 hours wakes up, eats, and goes right back to sleep
Loves to get his head washed when getting bathed....the rest of the time he is crying until we wash his head
As of Wednesday (9/26) he weighed 7lbs 9 ounces (has gained a whole pound since we left the hospital) He weight dropped down to 6lbs 7 ounces after he was born.
Loves the binky
loves to be held when going to sleep, hates to be put down even to sleep
Sleeps in a bouncer in a bassinet at night....does not like to lay down flat at night!
WE LOVE OUR MR. B!!!

23 Years Old and 36 weeks Pregnant

A couple weeks ago was my 23rd birthday (I cannot believe I am that old!!) We celebrated my birthday in Bear Lake with my mom, dad, sister and boyfriend, and Dallas. I try to tell myself that we went to Bear Lake for my birthday...but that really wasn't the reason. My family has been trying all summer to get away for a family vacation, but summer really went too fast!!
We had so much fun in Bear Lake, the lack of pictures is really because we were having fun!! We got there on Friday night we drove around to the other side of the lake looking for a decent beach to play on, the water is really high and there really is little beach! But we found this perfect spot that was a nice sandy each and the water was perfect!! We played around in the water for a few hours before heading back to our condo on Friday!
Saturday (my BIRTHDAY!!) we went back to the same beach and spent all day playing in the water! We brought rafts, frisbee, water blow up toys and lots more...it was so much fun!! I mostly just laid in the blow of raft and canoed around the lake, I got burned way bad, but had lots of fun!!!
Saturday night we ate at Bear River Pizza (delicious by the way) and got a raspberry shake....never, ever, ever, can leave bear lake without a raspberry shake!! My birthday was family filled and lots of fun!!
Sunday, my favorite day!! Sunday after we slept in and checked out of our hotels, we rented a bicycle/train thingy for SIX!! Yup for six people!! We all had to peddle while only one could steer the bikes!! We rode all around Bear Lake in these things!! My dad and Dallas were embarassed, but I was having the time of my life!! People honked, waved, and stopped to talk to us...just like we were celebrities!!

I didn't want to come home...because I knew coming home meant work and getting ready for school. I loved this short little vacation with my family, cannot wait for the next one!!
I am also 36 weeks pregnant!! Wahoo!! My stomach is getting really big, and it is getting just a little awkward to move around. I went to the doctor yesterday and she checked me and I am 1cm dilated, if that! She did notice that my body is preparing to have this baby. I have had lots of baby showers and received several very nice gifts! I feel very grateful to have such great family and friends!! I also notice in the pictures how chubby my face is....ahhhhh I hope that goes away!!
I cannot wait to meet my sweet baby boy!

My First Day of First Grade

It is official, summer is over, time for school to start! I have been working for a couple of weeks but on Monday... I got my STUDENTS!!! I thought I was ready, I have been looking forward to it for a long time, But I WAS NOT!! It was a crazy day of running around like a chicken with no head!!! Luckily I have great co-workers who have really been a great support, and help!!! While trying to tell Dallas about my day I could hardly think of what we did... I was that tired!!! My students are great!! I have 21 one of them, and each one was so patient when I made mistakes; I made lots of mistakes and they always told me... It is okay to make mistakes!!! I really am enjoying having my very own classroom to decorate, and teach how I want to teach! I hardly know anything really, there is lots of planning, and teaching procedures and behaviors right now!! I am trying to teach the important subject matter stuff, but if I do not target the kids behavior...it will make for a very long year!!! I am really tired, but so far I am loving teaching!!

There is just a little look around my classroom!! Since school has started I've added a little bit more!!
