Long Time No Post

It has been a long time since I have updated our blog, we have been so busy with school and working! I am still student teaching, actually tomorrow is my last day in my first grade classroom and then I will go to sixth grade. I am very nervous for sixth grade, it will be a very fun and interesting experience for me. Dallas is working hard, the poor guy works more hours in a week than I can even imagine! In fact we cannot even remember the last day that we were able to sleep in together...that makes me sad! :(
Even though we are very busy we still manage save some time for us, and go out on a little date now and again! Valentines day was a very laid back day, we did not want to fight the crowds and so we postponed our celebration for this weekend. But I got a HUGE surprise on Valentines morning!
I have to wake up pretty early to get ready for my school day, I walked into the kitchen to get my breakfast and saw my table beautifully decorated table with a dozen roses and a very funny card...Dallas style! We went to bed kinda late that night but he stayed awake waiting for me to be out....and then got up and got that out. He got to sleep in that morning so seeing my table made it very very hard to leave my Valentine!

Valentines Day at an elementary school is so much fun! The kinds absolutely love bringing gifts for their friends...it is hard to teach them that day, but still so fun! I wish it was my actual classroom cause I would have loved to spend more time on Valentines day. But the kids brought lots of little gifts for me (I wasn't expecting anything) this Easter basket, ignore it, I had to put the treats in something, is filled to the brim of all the little goodies from my students!! This makes teaching totally worth it, teaching is such a hard but rewarding job!
Sorry for the long-time no post! Life has been very busy and eventful, but here is a little glimpse on what has been going on!

Dallas's Christmas Present....Finally!

On January 21st Dallas was finally able to celebrate and use his Christmas gift from me!! I got him tickets to Brian Reagan, one of the first comedians we listened too when we started dating and laughed our HEADS OFF!! The concert was at Abravanel hall and he was so funny!! It was so  nice to go to a place and hear a comedian who makes clean jokes, and it was filled of families of all ages!! It was so much fun to watch and listen to him, I laughed so hard I cried...more than once!!

I couldn't get a video to upload, I'm really sad!! He is so funny I wanted to share!

A Very Merry Berrett Christmas

I absolutely love Christmas, by far my favorite holiday of the year!! I love getting a few days extra days off work, and spending time with family!! Other than it wasn't a white Christmas, it was a great great day!! This Christmas was a little different for me, and was a little bit hard! I have been very lucky for the past two years. Dallas and I have spent Christmas with my family, but this year it was his turn. We have decided, for now, to spend the entire day with one side of our family. We feel a lot more relaxed and are able to enjoy the day.

It started with Christmas eve at Dallas's aunt Roxanne's home. Every year she has a Christmas eve party. This is the first year I have ever been and it was a blast!! We all wore ugly sweaters...I loved that!!! Only next year we are starting the hunt for an ugly sweater earlier, to find that one and only totally yucky disgusting sweater!!
We ate a delicious dinner and then played a white elephant game, Dallas was just like a little child and got totally into the game. We all drew a number and then read a poem which had us switch our presents with another number, so you never knew what present you were going to end up with. Dallas really wanted this hat that lit up and sang a Christmas song. He tried everything in his power to trade for that hat!

Dallas in his ugly sweater, with his hilarious hat!

Dallas and his brother Logan. Logan got a pretty princess hat that lit up and sang just like Dallas's.

Okay there is a story behind my ugly sweater, I know it is a tiny bit small. We went to Savers shopping for about an hour looking for that perfect ugly sweater. I found this in the WOMENS section and didn't even think to look at the size before I bought it. I still thought it was ugly, and surprised it fit me at all.

All of us with our ugly sweaters. We sadly are missing Dallas's mom, who wore an ugly vest.
We slept at Dallas's parents house Christmas eve, which was a lot of fun! We watched Christmas Vacation before we went to sleep and Santa could visit. Dallas woke up at 3 a.m. to help Santa put all of the presents under the tree...just like how my family does it. Dallas really did a great job trying to bring some of my family traditions to our Christmas at his home. I really love that about him. Dustin and Wendi slept over as well and it was so fun to watch our niece on her very first Christmas. We woke up about 7:30ish, watched Tatum open presents and then opened some of our own. After presents everyone else came over and we ate a delicious breakfast prepared by Dave!
Christmas was special this year because it was on Sunday! I had planned on going to church, brought our church clothes and wanted to get everyone to go with us. Unfortunetly we didn't know what time his parents sacrament meeting started, but I really felt the spirit of our Savior. Even though we didn't attend church we spent an entire day with people we love so much. I love spending time with my in-laws and all of Dallas's brothers and their wives. Sometimes we may have a few bumps in the road, but we all love and get along so well. It is such an overwhelming feeling to have a great family who gives us more than they need too, everyone is so giving. We are so blessed.

Merry early Christmas morning. Both patiently waiting to open our presents!
Dallas spoiled me, but there is not many pictures to prove that. I got tons of great gifts from my sweatheart, thank you thank you! He knows me all too well. Dallas got lots of things as well...He goes throughout the year not buying much for himself and he works so hard. He deserves to be spoiled. He got new headphones for his Xbox 360, movies, clothes, and best of all TICKETS TO BRIAN REGAN!!! This present is my favorite!!

Dallas can now ignore me while playings his game...sadly for me.

Dallas's and his nephew Karbon! He is a little stinker sometimes, but also so stinkin adorable. He played kinect with us, and loves loves loves Dallas. It was so funny to watch Dallas with him, and Karbon copied everything Dallas did.

Dallas and Tatum!! She is too cute!!

We got Kinect sports for Christmas. All the boys played, and Karbon loved getting in on the action too!

It was a very fun Christmas!! Although I missed my family very much!! Thank you Santa for a great husband, family, and presents!! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!
