Feelin the Cabin Fever

Wow I can hardly believe how fast summer has flown by in less than a month school will have started back up and all I will have left of the summer are just the wonderful memories!! Dallas and I have been having lots of fun every chance we get and we are really loving spending our time together...and can you just hardly believe we approaching our 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY?!?!?!?!?!
This past weekend we spent our holiday at Dallas's families cabin up close to Monte Cristo, his family has a gorgeous cabin with the river flowing right in their backyard!! We planned on going up on the 24th to do some tubing but quickly decided it would be really fun to spend the night away from home; we packed up and hit the road!!  Dallas's family all spent the holiday there eating, laughing, and just having so much fun! Dallas, me, Hunter (Dallas's cousin) and friend all tubed down the river together (no pictures) and all but Dallas had a blast! Dallas shined every rock from beginning to end, haha I wish I had a waterproof camera to take a picture of him folding his arms with a grumpy look on his face...it was really cute!
Unfortunately I have done something to my calf muscle...pulled it, sprained it..my leg just kills! So we weren't able to go on a hike and I was really bummed; but I really want my leg to get better for our trip next week!! That night my leg was hurting so bad, I have to find just the right position to put it in and that takes awhile, Dallas's sweet mom who runs her own little pharmacy, ha, gave me a muscle relaxer! Oh my goodness AMAZING, it was only a half a pill and in less than 10 minutes I was feeling pretty relaxed so relaxed I couldn't hold my head up straight, everyone was just laughing and telling Dallas he needed to get me to bed but I just would look up at him and say, "No honey...my head doesn't need to go to bed I can't even feel my head! " I don't even remember saying that!
The next day we tried tubing again and this time Dallas doubled up his tube and we headed down the river, and I was the one not having any fun! There were some pretty good size (tubing) rapids, and it was the very first one I flipped straight off my tube, lost my tube and Dallas had to chase it down. I flipped and felt like I hit every rock and tree the whole way down. It was fun...sorta!

Dallas's shorts he wore going down the river...looks like he had a little accident! ha, Don't worry its just dirt from all those now shiny rocks!

Then right before we left to go home some nice neighbors informed us that the reason the power was off was because a tree had fallen down right on our cabin road, blocking us in, we all got so excited if we were blocked in I guess that meant we didn't have to go home; nice thinking! Dallas's dad and grandpa quickly got thinking of what to do, they didn't have a chainsaw so that made things a little more difficult! After a few chops of an axe and a car pulling it out of the way...we unfortunately didn't have an excuse not to go home!
Dallas getting ready to go chop the tree...excuse the outfit, we were limited on our clothes after we got them all wet!
The tree blocking our pathway
Dallas' dad doing the actually chopping!!! And an action shot!
Dallas chopping off the branches!
After the tree was out of the way Dallas wanted to start chopping it for firewood..he is strong but after about 5 minutes and not really getting anywhere he gave up!
Of course I had to give it a try!

It was so nice to step away from home for a night and relax out in the mountains and just being able to have lots of fun!!!

Fourth of July and A Birthday

Wow what a busy weekend we just had, full of celebrations with family and celebrating the birth of my dearest loved one!! What I loved about this years fourth of July was since the holiday fell on a Sunday we didn't know if we should celebrate it on Saturday, Sunday, or on the Monday after...so we decided to do all 3 days...why not? Friday we went to my Grandma Imo's house to watch our traditional fireworks...that was so much fun! I love my Dad's side of the family unfortunately we don't spend as much time together as we should. We watch the fireworks from grandma Imo's porch and it is the perfect spot. When it first started we were so close we had ash falling on us and it looked like the fireworks were coming straight towards us, it was AMAZING!
Saturday we headed up to Huntsville to Dallas's aunt Roxanne's house for a dinner and to watch the Liberty fireworks. I loved being up there watching the fireworks, we had a really nice view and it was cold!! I was freezing! I had fun talking to Wendi, my sister-in-law and laughing with his family! I hope to make that a tradition every year!!
Then Sunday after church we went to my families house and had a delicious dinner (my mom seriously is such an amazing creative cook...We call Rachel Ray the 2nd) and then we made yummy S'mores over the grill and played JUMPROPE GAMES while we waited for it to get dark enough to do fireworks! At Winco (our new favorite grocery store) Dallas found a GIANT firework for only 17 dollars, so of course we bought it, and it ended up being the coolest firework and lasted a good 7 or so minutes...thanks Winco for putting on our Grand Finale! My mom got a firework that was pretty cool it was the spinning flower that lights up and spins, we've had it before but this one came with a huge loud BANG, and non of us was expecting it and all of us jumped right out of our seats it was classic! I loved this holiday and especially being able to spend it with both of our families!

Then the long awaited birthday celebration finally arrived on Monday!! Dallas turned the ripe ol' age of 25 but he was just as excited as a 5 year old little boy!! All weekend long I heard non stop, "What did ya get me?" "If I find it around the house can I open it?" "Can I open it at midnight?" WOW exhausting! I wanted that day to be really special cause seriously how many times do you get to celebrate turning 25? I kept everything a secret that we were doing that day to just add to the suspense!!
One of his presents was getting to sleep in (he doesn't get to that a lot because of work), so after he woke up I cooked him his favorite breakfast meal...over easy eggs, bacon, hasbrowns, and toast. During breakfast he got to open his present from me, he got an ITOUCH, he was so excited and I was so excited that FINALLY I got to give it to him! After breakfast and playing on the ITOUCH we headed out the door to go to BOONDOCKS! At Boondocks we played two games of miniature golf, G0 Carts, and the arcade, and we had so much fun!! After Boondocks Dallas's choice activity was to go to Gateway and see Eclipse, the only chickflik he will watch! But we almost missed it cause we were in the apple store and Dallas was getting a lesson on how to use his ITOUCH.
We had a serious time crunch (and Dallas didn't understand why) but as soon as Eclipse was over we had to hop in the car and go to Draper to eat at his favorite place IN-N-OUT!! But one thing he didn't know is I had a surprise there...his family! Dallas has been wanting to go with his family there but something always comes up to prevent it from happening so I decided this would be a fun surprise and his family loved the idea! Dallas was so shocked as soon as he saw them and it left him for once in his life...speechless!! Unfortunately we were having so much fun together that I didn't take pictures of IN-N-Out (which makes me really sad!)
IT WAS SUCH A FUN DAY!! My family has always gone way out for birthdays and I really wanted to bring that tradition into our family!  I loved surprising him and seeing him have so much fun with everything we did...we don't get to spend a WHOLE entire day together very often so it was nice to do that, I never ever get sick of being with him!
