A Very Merry Berrett Christmas

I absolutely love Christmas, by far my favorite holiday of the year!! I love getting a few days extra days off work, and spending time with family!! Other than it wasn't a white Christmas, it was a great great day!! This Christmas was a little different for me, and was a little bit hard! I have been very lucky for the past two years. Dallas and I have spent Christmas with my family, but this year it was his turn. We have decided, for now, to spend the entire day with one side of our family. We feel a lot more relaxed and are able to enjoy the day.

It started with Christmas eve at Dallas's aunt Roxanne's home. Every year she has a Christmas eve party. This is the first year I have ever been and it was a blast!! We all wore ugly sweaters...I loved that!!! Only next year we are starting the hunt for an ugly sweater earlier, to find that one and only totally yucky disgusting sweater!!
We ate a delicious dinner and then played a white elephant game, Dallas was just like a little child and got totally into the game. We all drew a number and then read a poem which had us switch our presents with another number, so you never knew what present you were going to end up with. Dallas really wanted this hat that lit up and sang a Christmas song. He tried everything in his power to trade for that hat!

Dallas in his ugly sweater, with his hilarious hat!

Dallas and his brother Logan. Logan got a pretty princess hat that lit up and sang just like Dallas's.

Okay there is a story behind my ugly sweater, I know it is a tiny bit small. We went to Savers shopping for about an hour looking for that perfect ugly sweater. I found this in the WOMENS section and didn't even think to look at the size before I bought it. I still thought it was ugly, and surprised it fit me at all.

All of us with our ugly sweaters. We sadly are missing Dallas's mom, who wore an ugly vest.
We slept at Dallas's parents house Christmas eve, which was a lot of fun! We watched Christmas Vacation before we went to sleep and Santa could visit. Dallas woke up at 3 a.m. to help Santa put all of the presents under the tree...just like how my family does it. Dallas really did a great job trying to bring some of my family traditions to our Christmas at his home. I really love that about him. Dustin and Wendi slept over as well and it was so fun to watch our niece on her very first Christmas. We woke up about 7:30ish, watched Tatum open presents and then opened some of our own. After presents everyone else came over and we ate a delicious breakfast prepared by Dave!
Christmas was special this year because it was on Sunday! I had planned on going to church, brought our church clothes and wanted to get everyone to go with us. Unfortunetly we didn't know what time his parents sacrament meeting started, but I really felt the spirit of our Savior. Even though we didn't attend church we spent an entire day with people we love so much. I love spending time with my in-laws and all of Dallas's brothers and their wives. Sometimes we may have a few bumps in the road, but we all love and get along so well. It is such an overwhelming feeling to have a great family who gives us more than they need too, everyone is so giving. We are so blessed.

Merry early Christmas morning. Both patiently waiting to open our presents!
Dallas spoiled me, but there is not many pictures to prove that. I got tons of great gifts from my sweatheart, thank you thank you! He knows me all too well. Dallas got lots of things as well...He goes throughout the year not buying much for himself and he works so hard. He deserves to be spoiled. He got new headphones for his Xbox 360, movies, clothes, and best of all TICKETS TO BRIAN REGAN!!! This present is my favorite!!

Dallas can now ignore me while playings his game...sadly for me.

Dallas's and his nephew Karbon! He is a little stinker sometimes, but also so stinkin adorable. He played kinect with us, and loves loves loves Dallas. It was so funny to watch Dallas with him, and Karbon copied everything Dallas did.

Dallas and Tatum!! She is too cute!!

We got Kinect sports for Christmas. All the boys played, and Karbon loved getting in on the action too!

It was a very fun Christmas!! Although I missed my family very much!! Thank you Santa for a great husband, family, and presents!! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

Student Teaching

This is such an exciting day for me, in this chaotic week! Today I finished up my finals, I have completed level 3 of the education program and am ready to move onto student teaching!! All I had to do was complete an exit interview with my professors, which was so easy, and then I was done!!
Then I got my student teaching placement, it was supposed to come the week of Thanksgiving, so to say the least I was very anxious!!
I am teaching at Country Hills Elementary School in West Haven!! I am so excited and seems so real now, I am a little nervous, but mostly excited!!
BRING ON SPRING SEMESTER I AM READY TO HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK!! This is one step closer to being done with school!

I am sooooooo excited!!

I'm Glad She's Here!

Morley, Morley, Morley, how I love this little kitty! She can be so rambunctious, just like a little child, and so calm and quiet...when she wants. Dallas has been working alot lately, especially Sundays. I hate him being gone but yet it is nice to know that I am not really alone, she is here keeping me company. When Dallas leaves in the morning she comes to my side of the bed and curls up and sleeps right next to me, its likes she knows I hate being alone. I am grateful at these times to have her, she may just be a silly cat, but she is so funny and sweet! I often think back to when we got her, it wasn't planned, but yet there was something that made us feel we needed her in our home!

Oh she can get so crazy when she wants to go outside! I am mean though and make her stay inside when it is cold!

Isn't she just so cute? But when Dallas gets home she is completely his cat, she wants nothing to do with me when he is here!

Wedding

Two days after the Taylor Swift concert Dallas's youngest brother, Austin, got married! It was a gorgeous day and they had a really fun wedding! Austin and Arianne are so cute together and they will have such a great life! I have really gotten to know Arianne, and am so happy I have her as a sister-in-law now! She is tons of fun!! It was a long day, when your not in the wedding party but your Husband is, it just makes a long day of sitting there! But I had fun talking with my wonderful sister-in-laws...we always have a good time!
After they cute the cake their D.J. played some fun songs and we all got up to dance....and get out our JIGGLES!! That was a blast!!

Stylin in his white tux...I liked it cause he really stood out!

All of his grooms-me...as you can tell Dallas was not paying attention!

Here comes the bride...all dressed in a gorgeous sparkly white gown!

Our family! All boys are now married!

Taylor Swift!!

On September 28 I was FINALLY able to enjoy my birthday present from Dallas!!
He took me to the Taylor Swift concert and oh my goodness she was so amazing, her concerts are cool  she acts out each of songs, and changes about every two songs! We were on the 25th row off to the right hand side and had very very good seats! I like her concerts because it wasn't full of people who are drunk, mostly 12 and 13 year old kids, who just idolize her!! I had so much fun, singing, dancing, and pretty much screaming the entire time!
Dallas went with me and he was such a good sport, she may not be his favorite singer, but he had a pretty good time singing a long with me! The only annoying part was waiting in "line" to buy a t-shirt! Oh my goodness all the people, and there wasn't really a line to wait in just a mast amount of Taylor-crazed fans, like me! My favorite was when she walked right in the middle of the crowds on the floor she stopped and hugged lots of people and especially stopped to give the little girls there hugs...that was so nice! She also gave them something but I couldn't see what it was!

They had lots of big screens all around so you could see her everywhere! I loved her set!

Her famous heart symbol she always gives the audience!

While singing Love Story she got onto this balcony and swung out towards the audience! She got really really close to us, it was AWESOME!!

This was for her song "Mean" She has so many people on set singing and dancing, which makes it really fun to watch!

Us on the way to the concert...of course had to stop at In-N-Out for Dallas!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH DALLAS FOR TAKING ME TO THIS CONCERT!! I had so much fun!!!

My BIG HUGE Mistake

I'll admit, this is not one of my proudest moments, just a little bit embarassing!
But at the same time, my first HUGE laundry mistake in YEARS!!!
We don't count the mistakes such as throwing a shirt in the dryer,
that should've been hung up! OR forgetting the dryer sheet,
OR even forgetting to put the detergent in the washer.....
YUP, IT'S JUST A LITTLE BIGGER THAN THAT!

Yesterday (yes, Sunday, which is probably why it all went wrong...I did laundry on Sunday!)
I decided to wash our rugs, because they were so dirty and needed it!! Well I have four rugs in my house, a brown rug, brown, tan, and white checkered rug, brown and white strip rug AND the culprit the red rug!
The thought crossed my mind, red bleeds, should I wash the red rug??? I respond with, yes, I don't think it'll be a problem: I found this surprise
Dallas just laughed at me, told me it was cute, but I don't think the rugs look very cute!! Time to go shopping I guess!!!!
Lesson learned: do not do laundry on SUNDAY!!!

WHAT!?!?!?! 2 years

Oh my goodness I can hardly believe that Dallas and I have been married for 2 years, time really goes too fast sometimes! We have had so much fun these past two years, and I am so grateful that he married me (even though I am annoying...more often than not haha!) We decided to do something low key this year and just go away for the weekend! We stayed at the Chateau at Silver Lake in Deer Valley (a super nice area), our room was FABULOUS!!! But I had a BIG-HUGE surprise for Dallas, you'll see below!! We took a lot of pictures, and I just wanted to post all of them, cause our time was so much fun!!!!
Well the weekend started late but started great with a wonderful bouquet of flowers from my adorable husband, and then we hit the road for PARK CITY!!!!!!!!

Right above the parking garage was our room, we were on the bottom, so the balcony you see in the picture wasn't our room...but pretty sure the rooms are the same.
This is our DARLING kitchen!! It had a full fridge, cabinets, stove, and a dishwasher, it was crazy!! Off to the side is a table for 8 people (so nice!)
As soon as we got into the room this is right where Dallas went, sit down and watch T.V. It made me laugh because my dad does the same thing whenever we go on a trip...gotta make sure the t.v. works. (oh brother)
This is our HUGE california-king bed, it was so comfortable!!! When we slept I didn't even know where Dallas was, so you can really spread out!!
I didn't take pictures of the bathroom, surprisingly, but the bathroom was really nice! It had a jetted tub, a shower with a seat, two sinks, a towel-warmer, and best of all 2 robes!! I was in heaven, and believe me I showered twice a day, just to soak it all in!!

On Saturday I finally got to share my secret with Dallas (i've been keeping this from him for at least a month, which killed me cause I was so excited!) But I had booked a glider plane ride at the Heber Valley airport, crazy fun huh??? But when I told Dallas the first thing he said is, "we're gonna die!" That thought had never crossed my mind, but now that it had I got very very nervous!! We almost backed out but I am so glad we didn't!!  Our pilot was so nice, it is two retired pilots that just do this for fun now!! It was an absolute blast and so fun to see everything from so high!!!

This is our plane we were going to ride in, we got towed up by a bigger plane and then once the tow rope dropped we floated all around the Heber area!
 Us on take off!
Our pilot said we got up to a mile and half up in the sky...scary! Our pilot showed us lots of landmarks, and really gave us a great tour!
It was squishy in the plane, but hey were married and its our anniversary, I want to be as close to him as possible...hehe!

After the plane ride we stopped and got a raspberry shake from Dairy Keen in Heber (definitely recommend, that place is awesome!) We had to hurry and get out of town cause the parade was about to start but I want to go back and visit Heber!

So while we were flying our pilot asked where we were staying and he flew us as far as he could toward our hotel, which was just right over the mountains, and he gave us a fun way to go back to our hotel without getting on the freeway. It was a small dirt road, with several stopping points, so we stopped at one and went for a little hike...it was an absolute blast! Of course we decided to be just a little silly!

This is his knew pose...shooting for the stars!

Dallas loved, loved, loved his robe sitting there like he is king! He has the remote in one hand, and pink lemonade in the other.
Part of our hotel stay came with a 100 dollar credit towards their restaurant, oh my goodness it was so fancy!! We were laughing cause when they seated us they asked if we wanted their wine list, which of course we said no. They sat us in the corner of the room...and we waited forever for our waitress to come to our table, we think its because they knew we wouldn't be big spenders cause we don't drink wine! The food was good, we got three courses each, but let me say my salad was very very interesting...when I think salad I think lots of leafy green and veggies, but all I got was cheese, green pico stuff, and tomatoes! My main course was salmon and that was the absolute most amazing piece of salmon ever!!!

On Sunday (our actual anniversary day) I stuck a DVD I made of Dallas and I into the DVD player in the family room of our hotel, so when he woke up and got breakfast he would see us on the screen. For the rest of the day we spent shopping, saw a movie, and eating it was the absolute most perfect weekend ever! I loved spending time with my husband celebrating our anniversary! I am so in love with him, he is my best friend!! I am so grateful for everything is has and is doing for me, and I really don't let him know enough how much I absolutely am head over heels for him!!! It is so nice to get away, just for a weekend, to relax and forget about all the stresses of work, school, and home life and just enjoy each others company!!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BABE, YOU MADE IT SUCH A GREAT DAY!!!

OH YA I FORGOT TO MENTION

Dallas got a new job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It all came about after he turned in his resume to Golden West Credit Union that he got a promotion at work! This is such a blessing to us, and I am super excited for Dallas, and Dallas is pretty excited himself!!!

Birthday, Fireworks, Cabin....FUN!!!

This has been another fun and busy month, I love July for many reasons! I get to celebrate Dallas's birthday, by thinking of fun things for him to do, and lots of fireworks the day after his birthday to continue the celebration!
HAPPY LATE JULY 4th!! That was really just a relaxing day for us and I can't remember why we weren't hoping from family to family like we usually do! We wanted to just do our own fireworks that night, but then my mom called and invited us to the Kaysville fireworks at Davis High. It was a lot of fun, I grabbed a delicious funnel cake and Dallas ate a Navajo taco (which looked delicious, but not as good as homemade!!) After the fireworks we headed home to do some more fireworks, and then the clock hit midnight and we saved the biggest for last in honor of Dallas's birthday!

Macy and Mom at the Kaysville fireworks!

Oh its just us

On July 5th we celebrated Dallas's birthday, this boy loves his birthday so I always like to plan it BIG so I decided on a scavenger hunt.I told Dallas weeks before that I had to "work" on his birthday, (but not really) which really bummed him out! So on his birthday morning, I "left" for work (I went to Farmington and got my haircut). The first clue I texted him, but I had to be precise on the time I sent it because I didn't know how long it would take him and one of his clues was to hop onto frontrunner and come to Farmington, and the trains only came every hour. Dallas had lots of different tasks to complete, and lots of different places to go, with his GRAND PRIZE being going to gateway to see Transformers in 3-D  (which may not be a grand prize to you, but he had been waiting and waiting and waiting to see this movie!!) Everything went perfectly and he had a lot of fun! I'm bummed because I forgot to have him take pictures while on his hunt!

Macy went with me to pick up Dallas, I cut my hair off so I had to bring someone he recognized...haha. As he walked off of frontrunner, I had my car decorated with two oversize tickets to Transformers.

Since we were going to see a movie I had to make a birthday themed cake! I had to hurry while making it cause it was so hot in our house the frosting was melting!!

Then this past weekend for the 24th of July My mom, Macy, Me, and her boyfriend went to my grandparents cabin in Freedom, WY. (did you notice a name is missing from the list? Dallas had to work and wasn't able to get it off, it was SO weird to be away fro him! Although I think he was okay right after we left he stayed at my house to hang out with my dad for a little bit....AWESOME HUH????) Even without Dallas the trip was sooooooooooooo relaxing!! I got to hang out with all of my cousins, aunt, and uncle, and grandparents!! It was soooo much fun, and not to mention like 75 degrees in the middle of the day!
I walked a total of 6 miles with my aunt Jil (she is a marathon runner and she really gave me a workout), rode the four-wheelers, played games, did fireworks, watched fireworks (Freedom festival days), bought lemonade from two adorable kids (with 200 people living in Freedom we felt bad and wanted to support their Entrepreneurship, my cousin Ben said the lemonade tasted like pickles though...haha) It was such a fun weekend, and it took us so long to leave the cabin, although I was ready way before anyone else! I love spending time with my family, and this was a great weekend to catch up with everyone!
