Christmas Craziness

Christmas 2009, one of my favorite christmas and one I don't think I will ever forget!! Dallas and I decided to spend christmas with my family...and honestly I don't think I could have spent it without them yet! We had our christmas eve party at grandma Imo's house with dinner catered by Harmon's it was really yummy! I got to see cousins I don't get to see very often and one of the many reasons I love the holidays, I did not take any pictures with my camera of everyone but it was a packed house!! After the party my family drove up Christmas lane and saw Christmas lights (it was more exciting when I was younger!) Then the traditional Christmas lights in Layton city! It was tons of fun, after that we went home and Dallas and my dad of course started the x box!
Dallas, Macy and I all slept in the same room...so much fun we stayed up laughing most of the night, and decided Dallas needed to do the traditional Roosendaal set the alarm and wake up at 6:30 to open presents! It was one of my favorite Christmas being with my family and knowing christmas wasn't over yet cause we still had to go to Dallas's family the next day...so more opening presents!!!

Here are my presents! Santa Clause spoiled me..that is an understatement! I got a kitchen aid, lots and lots of nice clothes, recipe book "cooking for two" hopefully we don't have leftovers anymore! Then got more spoiled as the day went on!

Dallas got a video game chair from Santa! You can hook your x box, TV, Ipod up to it and it plays right at the head rest, and then the chair vibrates when there is a lot of bass! Santa is too nice sometimes ;)
Early Christmas morning, we look like we did just roll out of bed! I made us new pajama pants for christmas! We look pretty snazy I think!!
My mom bought Eggnog...just for Dallas! He loved it, just don't understand this drink!
Merry Christmas Max

Mom and Dad
Daddy and I...Merry Christmas!
This is my dads favorite picture covering my "big mouth"
okay check this think out, it is called a shruggie! Dallas's mom got this from a lady she used to do nails for, she made it, let me tell you it is the weirdest looking thing I have ever seen!!
Dallas could not wait to open his present from his brother Logan, I got pestered so many times about what he got him! A Texas Longhorn hat (I was mostly excited for that because his old one is disgusting) A U of U jersey that is like gold! Then the big gift from his parents a blue ray for the both of us!

Another Busy Weekend

This last weekend was an exciting and very busy weekend! On friday night we drove to Payson, Utah (if you have never heard of it before...you are not the only one!!) for one of my best friends wedding dinner. Dallas and I had a lot of fun at the dinner, eating some really yummy dinner and talking with some friends. But as always Dallas has to leave with a bang, me screaming in the car, the parking lot was perfect for doughnuts and of course we had to do not one or two but 10 or 20! On our drive back we managed to drive right past In and Out, no stop this time :(. Saturday, was Nikell and Barrys winter wedding and I got to go for the first time to see the sealing...it was beautiful and took me back to our wonderful day! Nikell looked gorgeous and I'll post pictures in a minute so you can see for yourself, I am so happy for her and am so glad that I got to be part of her special day! Although it snowed she missed out by missing our wintery blast on Sunday, lucky girl! Then on sunday my mom had tickets to the music and the spoken word at the conference center and I know how much my mom loves to see the tabernacle choir, I wasn't going to let her miss out on going because the weather looked iffy, or nobody was going to go with her. haha, so on sunday Dallas and I woke up at the crack of dawn and drove back to farmington and went to hear the music and the spoken word! It was beautiful, I love listening to their music it brings the spirit in and makes you feel like there is nothing you cannot conquer!! We were lucky enough to have a mini concert after the half hour segment of the long concert the tabernacle choir had been putting on for the past 3 previous days!! Natalie Cole was there, and her voice is amazing and a renound author who told the history of a christmas song "I'll be hope for christmas" it brought both kinds of spirts into our hearts...the spirit of the Lord and of christmas! After it was over we braved the winterwonderland and headed home...my mom's van barley made it up the hill, so Dallas and I were snowed in at my parents house and I loved it! We played games, laughed, and ate my mom's yummy dinner!! It was a busy but so fun weekend!! Nikell and Barry December 12, 2009 the happy couple!!!
Showing off her shoes haha its a classic boots with snowmobile socks on!! Toes will stay warm forsure!!

Nikell, Kelise and I.

At the reception, I felt so bad I was wearing levis, I forgot to bring a skirt to my mom's house later!! Sorry Nikell!! But she looks so beautiful and he is pretty dashing! It was darling to see them snuggling up next each other during the night!

Cutting the cake! Classic line we heard from them.."How do we cut it?" and "What do we do now?"

Macy caught the bouquet!! My dad wasn't too happy about that when we got home and showed him!!

This is Sunday walking back from the music and the spoken word! Dallas is so silly!! We had two umbrellas but this one obviously is broken and Dallas just kept saying its doing the same thing; even though it looked so silly he wanted to use it!! I fell in love with his dorky side!!

Outside the conference center...it was snowing pretty hard but looking at the Salt Lake Temple was so pretty!!
***As you can see a busy but fun weekend! We got it all a wedding, snow, christmas music and time with our family!!****

It's time for Christmas

Our first Thanksgiving was so perfect, our first thanksgiving as a married couple!!! We spent it with his family, eating tons of food and doing the Berrett traditional thanksgiving bowling. I love that tradition, it is a lot of fun to bowl with family although I pretty much embarassed myself...I still had a lot of fun!! Then BLACKFRIDAY!!! We braved the cold...hit some stores and fought over a couple of items...one of which was Dallas fighting someone off for season 3 of the Office, he lost of course! Then we went to eat with his brother Austin, and his cousin Hunter, at good ol' Village Inn, that was so much fun!! We are so proud of ourselves because we got a lot of our christmas shopping done, and got some pretty good things at a great price!! But of course we had to buy ourselves a couple things...like the Office! We love that show!!
After shopping my family has the tradition of the day after thanksgiving you set up the christmas stuff...I love it! I had made these blocks (Dallas thinks they are silly, but I love them!) They are sitting on a table right by our front door of our apartment. In case you are courious the litte guy with blond hair is from the cartoon of Rudolph the red nose reindeer, his mom bought that for him when he was little because dallas's hair used to do that swoop thing (automatically) and his mom gave it to us in rememberence of little Dallas.
Our stockings, I made these last year for us...because I had a feeling the next christmas they would come to good use!!

Here is our fireplace decorated and our christmas tree!!I love our christmas tree...it just totally brightens up our room.

A close up, Dallas mom donated a lot of her old decorations to the help Dallas and Kyla have a Merry Christmas fund! haha, she was wanting to redecorate, so she was soooo sweet and let me come over and go through and pick out what I want. I love her, now our house is complete for christmas.

On saturday Dallas was craving IN and Out (after thanksgiving??? silly boy!!) I gave in and we drove to IN and Out in Draper....but only if we could stop at Dallas's new favorite store IKEA! haha! The line here was incredible, it was so long! We decided to go inside and order our food instead of going through the 1 1/2 long drive through! Dallas ordered a double double animal style with animal style fries, and I decided to make the drive worth it by ordering a double double animal style with regular fries! Not gonna lie, it was worth the drive!!

Here we are, since IN and Out was so crowded there was no seats inside! So we had to eat in the car! We got our way to cool In and Out hats, pretty sweet! Our mementos from that sweet burger!!
After In and Out we decided to top our date off with stopping at the temple to see the christmas lights...my favorite tradition each christmas time especially now with my husband!! It was so much fun, the lights are gorgeous and I loved holding Dallas hand and looking at the temple we both just so recently got sealed in, it is so special.

More of the beautiful lights!!

Dallas thought this picture would be picture perfect because I was wearing my red coat and ther was a huge red tree...picture time!! haha, it is hard when it is just the two of us on our date to take pictures of both of us so we had to take turns. The day was busy but yet so fabulous...I got to spend the day with Dallas and that is nothing less than hallarious and makes a very good day!!!!!

Those dang pigs got Dallas

BOO Scary huh? Dallas dressed up as someone from the music group KISS for Halloween! We found the makeup at Walmart back in September and Dallas just was so excited to be him for Halloween...but as sweet Dallas does when we went to walmart to buy our costumes he didn't know if he wanted to get it because he didn't want to spend the money! I convinced him though and I love it!!!

This was a super fun weekend let me tell you!!! haha, Dallas was sick with the Swine Flu all weekend, he got it last Tuesday and was down seriously without moving for 3 days straight except when I made him get out of bed and go for a little drive with him! I hated that Dallas was sick, and it made me so sad to see such a strong man in so much pain, but I really loved being Doctor Kyla Berrett haha, I tried my best to doctor him up and we tried as many home remedies as I could think of from taking a cold shower to bring the fever down to making him breathe in steamy water vapor to help his cough; he was a very good patient! He is feeling a little bit better today, and I don't have it...so far so good! On top of Dallas being sick, Saturday I was pouring me some milk and clump...clump...clump came out so disgusting!!! Our fridge was broken and we had kind of sensed that something was wrong when nothing in our fridge felt cold but yet everything in our freezer was getting freezer burn and becoming frosted over! I called our landlord on Saturday and came over and looked at it and instead of fixing this old fridge he just bought us a new one...wahoooo!!! We threw away a lot of our moldy and spoiled food and prepared for the new fridge!!!

On a happier note:

Saturday we celebrated our 3 MONTH ANNIVERSARY....CAN YOU BELIEVE IT WE HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR 3 VERY HAPPY MONTHS???? I love being married...I absolutely love being able to be with Dallas all the time he makes me laugh so hard, and treats me so amazing!!! We always find a way to get a laugh out of any situation, which I love more than anything! Since Dallas did not feel very good we didn't celebrate in any fancy way, we drove up through the canyon to Huntsville to eat at Subway in the car (Dallas is paranoid about anyone else catching the swine flu) and I didn't want to eat just in the boring ol' parking lot so we drove around and we found...which we didn't know existed a beach on the other side of Pineview reservoir, it was an empty parking lot except for the seagulls the sun was setting it was beautiful...I think we just found our new hangout spot! It was a really fun night despite everything else that was going on, just Dallas and I! I LOVE YOU BABE!!!

Loss of My Favorite Math Teacher

This is Diane Pugmire, or to me I called her just plain ol' Diane! She passed away early this morning in the Odgen Regional Hospital. The cause is unknown, her lungs just kept filling up with fluid and they couldn't drain it. When I heard she was in the hospital and had a 50/50 chance my math class immediently asked if she we could say a prayer in her behalf and hopefully see her back in our classroom again. This is the lady that finally...in college helped me understand math and why I was doing what I was doing. She taught me math for elementary teachers and I'll always carry around her ideas and methods. She is more than just a college professor she is a friend to every one of her students! She understood that sometimes life hands us a few more lemons than we can handle and was always willing to work with us! I remember not doing so well on one of her tests and feeling so devestated and I went to her classroom and she went over that test with me, and helped me understand what I did wrong and we sat there until it cliqued! All of her students loved her and this is such a great loss to everyone who has had her or has her now...like me! Just can't believe that something can overtake your body so quickly! I love the knowledge I have of this gospel, that we will again see the ones who went before us, that knowledge is one that comforts me through trials like this! She was an inspiration to me and made me love math and actually be inspired to become a teacher, there is so many rewards in teaching she would always see! She NEVER gave up on any one of her students, she knew they would get it and understand it just takes time! I will miss her so much, and seeing her in class, and the excitment she brought into the classroom! I am comforted and a little bit jealous she is now in the loving arms of our heavenly father!

Our Weekend at the Cabin

Macy went to her first dance, homecoming, a couple of weeks ago! She looked really pretty and I think had a pretty good time as well!

Sometimes life gets pretty stressful and all of us just need to get away, maybe no place that is expensive, no place that is extraordinary, or your dream vacation just place where you can relax do what you love to do and be surrounded by those you love and who love you! So that is exactly what Dallas and I did, we took off to his cabin! I have been overwhelmed with learning my new job and trying to fit school work in, and I've had so many craft projects I have just wanted to work on really bad! When Dallas told me he didn't have to work that Sunday I was sooooo excited and went straight to our luggage and started packing and off to buy what I need to make a couple of the projects I wanted to work on for Halloween! Nighttime was an interesting experience! I got so scared, Dallas really wanted to watch a scary movie...I thought I could handle it up until he turned it on and I watched the first 5 minutes, I started to freak out! We slept up in the loft and I could barley get myself to go upstairs I was so nervous! Dallas was not helping either...he was making me more scared by turning a corner and screaming or saying he could see shadows outside It turned into a really successful weekend, I don't feel as overwhelmed, and I got all the projects I wanted done, sewing, painting, hiking and especially having fun! On Sunday Dallas's parents came up to the cabin and made us scones for breakfast and hamburgers for dinner! Both were delicious! We also went for a drive up to Causey Dam, which is really low for this time of year, and Dallas's mom loves to watch animals and when we saw some sheep being herded we pulled over and watched them for a while...which was really entertaining! Unfortunately not soon after that our day had to end :( we were really slow and reluctant to go home, and start the next week! But after that we both feel really relaxed and until the next time! haha below are some pictures of our fun time!
We had to cross the river to get to the other side of the mountain, the water was just a little teeny bit cold!! Just look at Dalla's face, haha the initial reaction when he stepped in! The water was moving fast and the rocks hurt our feet it was an adventure getting across...and especially trying not to drop the camera!
This is the view from red rock, it looks down right onto Dallas's family cabin! His is the cabin right in the middle! I love his cabin, it is so warm and cozy and surrounded by bountifulness...if that is a word!
Look how gorgeous the mountains are!!! I think we are so blessed to live in such a gorgeous state, it was so wonderful to take a hike at this time of year and be reminded of how grateful we should be!
Up top red rock!! We had a lot of fun hiking to the top of red rock! We had a gorgeous view, fought off some big nasty spiders, ate some cobwebs, but are totally laughing about it now! I couldn't help but take a picture of us cause I think we are so cute together and are totally best friends!
He is bringing in the wood to start the fire!! haha, we are gonna get it going...we think!!!

This is the fire my boy scout, got for me!!! He did such a good job!

After Dallas got the fire started, we made us some DELICIOUS smores, they were so yummy that we couldn't help but have smore!

I don't know why I put this picture on here, but I think its funny! Haha Dallas was getting pretty scruffy and he could hardly stand it any longer and even though he really wanted to grow a full length beard he just couldn't resist the good feeling of a cleanly shaven face!

Good-Bye Old, Hello New

I've only had one job my whole entire working carreer, a real job I guess you can say! Yes I have babysat, mowed lawns and other odd jobs but Sew N Save was my first "real job" but just a couple weeks ago after 5 years of being raised by Sew N Save, I had to say good-bye! It was so hard but I know it will be for the best! I loved working there, I had so many second moms!! I remember so many times that I would have a horrible day and I had to go to work and why not vent and let it all out there? I was going to be there for four hours! The ladies at Sew N Save I think knew me better than I knew myself! When I was deciding where to go to college, what decided it for me was I couldn't quit Sew N Save! At the time I didn't know why I needed to stay there for so long, but I understand (2 years later) why! That is where I met my husband, Dallas. It all makes perfect sense, I needed to stay there just long enough to meet him and I am so grateful I listened to my heart and stayed! Cause he means the WORLD to me! Yes there were some days I hated Sew N Save, where we would be so busy, or I wouldn't get a long with one of the co-workers and I'd beg another job to come along! haha, thats how all jobs are I think!

I started at Thomas Arts (I nannied here last year, and loved it) a couple weeks ago, it is Farmington, an advertising industry and they are always very busy! I was hired as a marketing officer, so I help with the shipping of advertisment, and driving around to deliver or pick up whatever needs to be done! I think of myself as a PERSONAL ASSISTANT, like in the moive The Devil Wears Prada. I pick up lunch often times for meetings and other types of odd jobs. I can't say I love it as much as Sew N Save, it is a very different industry and I am learning a lot of new things. This is a good experience for me, although it has nothing to do with what I am majoring in! haha kinda funny! It'll take me a while to start to LOVE this new job, but what keeps me going is I am doing this for a purpose to help my new family! So for that I love it! I am gettig used to the 6 hour long days, instead of the 4 hours at Sew N Save that seemed to drag on long enough!

Other than that, Dallas and I are still doing great, and keeping busy! We are always running around doing errands or off playing when we have the chance! This weekend I am so excited we are going to get away to his family cabin for the weekend, to just relax and let the stress just fade away! haha!

Our Fun Weekend!!!

This weekend was way busy but so much fun!
On Labor Day, it was our ONE MONTH ANNIVERSARY! We can't believe we have already been married for one month! This month went by super fast! Both of us had the day off and we spent it together doing what we love to do...just have fun! We went grocery shopping (not really the funnest thing to do) then we went to Fat Cats at the Junction in Ogden and played arcade games. Dallas and I don't speak of that much because we were horrible at the games we usually win the most tickets at! He did surprise me with some fun prizes..can't get much with the little amount of tickets we had! haha oh well we still had so much fun! Then we played glow in the dark minature golf..a blast!! Raced race cars and best of all ate at Olive Garden! It was a fun day, I love every second I get to spend with him..especially when it's all day! I LOVE YOU BABE!!
Ashley Falcon, came down from Provo this weekend to spend her birthday with us!! She even came over Friday night and her and Macy spent the night! Poor Dallas in a house of all girls...or should I say lucky Dallas! We had a lot of fun, when Macy had to go to work on Saturday Ashley and I played X-Box 360, guitar hero, talked and talked and talked! When Dallas got home from work we went and played at the mall, (window shopped :D) and then our favorite went and played at a park!! That was a blast, just like old times

Just Hanging around!

BEST FRIENDS

This picture we took on a self timer, while Dallas was in the car listening to the Oklahoma VS. BYU Football game! Dallas and Ashley had a little rivelry going on! Dallas for anyone but BYU and Ashley BYU all the way!!

Look at him go!!! haha!

Awesome Rock Climbing!!! haha, we made it to the top but didn't have a bell to hit! We were pretty sad!

Ashley is so good at catching the perfect moments! What a great action moment! This is just part of the fun we had while together!

Who beats who?

We love playing on the swings!! Its been a long time since I have actually played at a park with swings!!!

I don't really know what is going on in this picture, I was climbing up the wall and started to slip and Dallas came to save me, haha oooooo!! Ashley captured some pretty intense moments here!

I was curious if I could jump over Dallas off this green rock! Took some nerve and Dallas I think was pretty nervous! But I did it!! haha!
***

After playing at the park and the mall, Ashley had a date with Dallas's brother Logan! Ashley and I had contemplated what to eat all day long! We wanted to make a big menu and cook a big fancy dinner...but in the end we ran out of time having too much fun! Logan picked up Ashley at our apartment where we had Papa Murpheys pizza, and I had the table all set so fun! I love doing stuff like this! We then went to the Raptors game, where we upgraded our seats for 5.00 and got a 2.50 coupon for food (I love good deals) and had seats directly across from 3rd base! AWESOME!! It was a lot of fun to have Ashley and Logan with us!

All four of us at the Raptors game!! So much fun, we never stayed the whole 9 innings. Raptors won!!! WAHOO!!!
Us sitting at the baseball game!! haha I don't know what Dallas is lauging at, but I think that is the cutest face!! haha!

Ashley and Logan at the Raptors!! They had a lot of fun together, it was so much fun doubling with them!! Glad they let us tag along!

HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY ASHLEY!! My silly mom came up with this cleaver cake instead of candles she used sparklers! We called this this ASH-ley cake! haha! It was yummy!! Can't be immature anymore Ashley...sorry :( hehe jk!

th
